GIRLS HOCKEY: Flying Warriors snap 10-game losing streak

RICHMOND — Ninth-grader Maddie Ellingson scored a goal and collected an assist, her first varsity points, as the Brainerd/Little Falls Flying Warriors secured a 2-0 Central Lakes Conference victory over the River Lakes Stars to snap a 10-game losing streak.

“Ellingson’s first varsity goal was an exciting moment for the team,” said Flying Warriors head coach Stephanie Sustercich.

Kristina Anderson scored the other goal for the Flying Warriors, who were defeated 4-1 by River Lakes Dec. 4

“Anderson set the tone with her pace and intensity and tried to get us a goal right away,” said Sustercich. “She kick-started the team.”
