Gymnastics: Third-ranked Tech defeats Warriors

Class 2A’s third-ranked and unbeaten St. Cloud Tech Tigers defeated 2A’s 17th-ranked Brainerd Warriors 145.475-136.825 in Thursday’s Central Lakes Conference dual meet at Brainerd High School.

Tech’s Taylor Pick won the vault (9.55) and floor exercise (9.45) on her way to the all-around title (36.275).

Brainerd’s Emmiline Klefsaas placed fifth on vault and on balance beam and was third in all-around (34.425).

Rachel Hoffman finished third on the uneven bars and Jackie Caughey was sixth in floor exercise for the Warriors.

Tech, which improved to 4-0 in conference and overall, also received wins from Katlyn Mohs on uneven bars (9.225) and Paige Beuning on beam (9.350).

Tech junior varsity wins

In the junior varsity meet, Tech defeated Brainerd 134.900-127.300.

Brainerd’s Kaylee Hoffman was runner-up on beam, Claire LePage was third on vault and floor, and Kianna Christensen was fourth on the uneven bars.
