Wrestling: Flyers pounce on Brainerd, beat Mora

LITTLE FALLS — The Brainerd Warriors clung to a 24-21 lead after eight matchs, but the final five went to Little Falls, including two by forfeit and two by quick pins, and the Flyers left the mat with a 48-24 win in Friday’s Section 8-3A matchup.

Registering pins for the Warriors were Andy Schlosser and Jeff Flickinger.

Bryton Mutz won the opening match at 106 pounds by injury default.

Dan Babineau and Luke Boran won by decisions.

Helping put the match away for the Flyers were a 52 second pin by Trysten Ross and Connor Swanson’s 55 second pin.

Justin Jenks, Axel Lange and Derek McMahan also recorded pins for Little Falls.

Little Falls 45, Mora 35

LITTLE FALLS — Six grapplers registered pins and the Little Falls Flyers improved their dual meet record to 11-3 with a 45-35 win over Mora Friday.

Tristan Ross, David Copa and Conor Swanson won by pins in the final three matches to decide the contest.

Also winning with pins were A.J. Jenks, Josh Beack and Connor Scherping.
