Wrestling: Wiess and Boran winners

ELK RIVER — James Wiess and Luke Boran each won all three of their matches for the Brainerd Warriors, who finished second with 178 points at the Elk River Invitational Saturday.

Boran was champion at 152 and Weiss was the heavyweight champ.

Bryton Mutz, Andy Schlosser and Jeff Flickinger all went 2-1 for second-place finished for the 5-4 Warriors.

“Given that right now we’re battling kids out with injury and illness, we still had a good weekend,” said Warriors co-head coach Mike Boran. “The guys we had left were good and as we get our guys back we’ll get better.”
