Men's College Basketball: Hoge leads Jimmies
Mark Hoge (Crosby-Ironton) totalled 26 points, 11 rebounds and an assist for Jamestown College during a 69-66 victory over Valley City State Jan. 20.
In a 62-57 win over Dakota State Jan. 19, Hoge tallied 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal.
Through 18 games, Hoge is averaging 19.1 points and 4.8 rebounds to go with 47 assists and 25 steals. He is shooting 44 percent from the field and 80 percent from the line for the 10-12 Jimmies.
■ Riewer, Dragons split
Jordan Riewer (Staples-Motley) posted 13 points, eight assists, four steals and two rebounds during the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon’s 80-53 blowout of Sioux Falls Jan. 18.
In an 86-82 loss to Southwest Minnesota State Jan. 19, Riewer tallied 12 points, three assists and two rebounds.
The sophomore is averaging 11.4 points and 2.7 rebounds to go with 61 assists and 23 steals. He’s shooting 44 percent from the field and 89 percent from the line for the 14-4 Dragons.
■ Parker at Crookston
Tomas Parker (Pequot Lakes) is a sophomore forward at the University of Minnesota Crookston. He’s averaging 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds for 3-13 Golden Eagles.
During a Jan. 19 loss to Winona, Parker finished with five points and two rebounds in 13 minutes of play.
■ Moody a Bulldog
Kurtis Moody (Pequot Lakes) has played in five games for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (4-12), which has lost five straight, including a 73-65 loss to Minnesota State University Mankato.
■ Tesdahl at BSU
Brock Tesdahl (Crosby-Ironton) has played in seven games this season for the Bemidji State University Beavers.
Tesdahl is a 6-foot sophomore guard for the 8-8 Beavers.
■ Wolhowe at Bethel
Derek Wolhowe (Staples-Motley) is a junior at Bethel University where he is averaging 6.7 points and 2.5 rebounds to go with 13 assists and seven steals.
Wolhowe finished with 11 points, three rebounds and an assist Jan. 19 during Bethel’s 70-32 blowout of Macalester.
Bethel is 10-6 overall.
■ Kornbaum at Augsburg
Dan Kornbaum (Little Falls) has helped Augsburg College to a 13-3 record.
Kornbaum, a 6-foot-9 junior center, is averaging 18.3 points and 7.7 rebounds to go with 24 blocks and 18 assists. He tallied 24 points and four rebounds in a 64-61 victory over St. Mary’s University Jan. 19.
