ICE RACING: Borden, Hines win races

Matt Borden of Merrifield won twice and Sarah Hines of Randall once in the Crosslake ice racing event Saturday.

Borden won the studded tire class, Shawn Pratt of Merrifield and Taylor Pratt of Merrifield.

Hines won in the under 15 years class followed by Dylan Nelson from Merrifield and Jake Borden of Merrifield.

Matt Borden also won the rubber tire class followed by Shawn Pratt and Dylan Nelson.

Ice racing will take place every Saturday at noon on Big Pine Lake, south of downtown Crosslake in front of the Cedar Chest as long as ice conditions permit.

Spectators are welcome. Take Big Pine Trail east from County Road 3 approximately one-quarter mile to the public access. Follow a plowed road on the lake to the parking lot on the southwest side of the track. There is no charge for admission.
