SNOWMOBILE RACING: Moritz wins in Oslo 100
The Oslo 100 was race four in the cross country snowmobile series Saturday.
Nathan Moritz of Emily was the big winner in the Semi Pro 600 class on his Arctic Cat.
The next event for the USXC series is the Red Lake I-500 at Thief River Falls Feb. 7-9.
■ ONE LUNGER 100
Single cylinder vintage machines will be on the ice for the One Lunger 100 at Cragun’s Resort on Gull Lake Saturday Feb. 2. It’s the Long Lake Vintage Snowmobile Racing Association’s biggest race of the year. The event attracts racers from as far away as Canada.
■ REGIONAL SNOCROSS
ISOC Snocross conducted a regional event last weekend at Glyndon.
Brandon Herheim of Hackensack was a big winner on his Arctic Cat. He was first Saturday in Pro Lite and third in Pro 16-29.
Evan Daudt of Longville was second Saturday and third Sunday in the Pro Lite class on his Polaris.
Tyler Daudt of Longville and also on a Polaris was runner-up Saturday and third Sunday in Amateur 16-29 and was third in the Sport class final Sunday.
The ISOC’s next national event will be at Deadwood, S.D., next weekend.
■ SCHMIDT WINS
Jeff Schmidt of Brainerd won the 440 Superstock liquid class on his vintage John Deere at the Vintage oval races put on by the Oval Racers Alliance (ORA) Jan. 27.
ORA’s next event is at Ogilvie Friday through Sunday Feb. 1-3.
Feb. 16 is the next event at Grey Eagle. The final event is part of the Thunder On Ice Feb. 23-24 at Garrison.
