Nordic Skiing: Flyer girls win Granite Ridge

ST. CLOUD — Little Falls’ Matt Massmann and Mattia Hendrickson both won the 5-kilometer skate race during Tuesday’s Granite Ridge Conference championship.

Hendrickson’s winning time of 15:12 helped the Flyers girls team to the conference title. Chelsea Rutz finished second in 15:15 for all-conference honors.

Massmann won in 13:57 to help the Flyer boys team to second behind Mora.

Maria Hauer finished second in the 5K classic and won the 1K sprint. Rutz was second and Hendrickson fifth in the sprint.

All three girls earned all-conference honors.

Gunnar Klienschmidt was third in the skate race. John Gottwalt placed second in the classic followed by Brian McNamara in third. Gottwalt was third in the sprint. All four skiers earned all-conference honors.
