GIRLS BASKETBALL: Miron moves into second place in W-DC scoring

Wadena-Deer Creek senior Emily Miron last week became the second-leading scorer in Wolverines girls basketball history with 1,351 points.

The 6-2 center scored 16 points in the Wolverines’ 50-47 victory over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Jan. 31.

She is joined in W-DC’s 1,000 point club by Rhonda Birch, 1993 graduate (2,524); Courtney Volkmann, 2010 (1,346); Kerby Johnson, 2002 (1,278); Jen Walter, 1981 (1,136); Brigetta Berg, 2009 (1,055); Marissa Browne, 2002 (1,054) and Lynn Piepkorn, 1979 (1,050).

W-DC improved to 11-8 with the win. The Wolverines’ next game is Tuesday, Feb. 5, when they host Pequot Lakes.
