Girls Basketball: Johnson, Warriors knock off Storm

Katelyn Johnson tossed in 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Brainerd Warriors to their fourth win of the season, 60-48, over the Sauk Rapids Storm in Thursday’s Central Lakes Conference game at Brainerd High School.

Maria West added 13 points and Abby Clanton finished with nine.

Brainerd beat the Storm 44-43 Jan. 4 at Sauk Rapids and is now 3-10 in the conference, 4-17 overall.

“It was a nice team effort tonight, everybody contributed,” said Brainerd coach Brian McAllister. “We played good defense helping each other out and covering up the shooters. Offensively, we didn’t force or rush anything and were able to knock our shots down.”
