MONTICELLO — Maddi Sjelin scored five goals to lead No. 1-seeded North Wright County over No. 8 Brainerd/Little Falls 8-0 in the Section 8-2A quarterfinals Saturday.


Dani Sibley tallied two goals and two assists for Class 2A’s 12th-ranked Riverhawks.

Sara Wennerstrand kicked away 34 of 42 shots as the Flying Warriors finished their season with a 2-23-1 record, ending the year with a five-game losing skid.

NCW had defeated the Flying Warriors 14-0 Nov. 23 at the Buffalo tournament.
