Adapted Floor Hockey: Annable's natural hat trick sparks Warriors

MOUNDS VIEW — Devin Annable scored the game’s first three goals for a natural hat trick and the Brainerd Warriors went on to defeat Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville 3-1 Monday night.

The win was Brainerd’s fourth straight while MV/I/R lost its fifth straight game.

Brainerd had beaten MV/I/R 10-0 Jan. 30. On Monday, MV/I/R outshot the Warriors 27-20.

“This game was much different than the game we won in Brainerd,” Warriors coach Todd Person said. “This game was called extremely tight. We had four penalties called against us and three went against Mounds View. Our players did a good job of adjusting to the smaller gym floor and about halfway through the second period we started to move the puck much better.

“Our team really played well defensively. Brock Saatzer did an excellent job of stealing the puck as they tried to bring it into our zone. Dalton Schreier and Zachary Denny played well in the walker defensive position and Sammy Perttula provided some help for Harlee Annable. Harlee played one of his best games of the year, stopping several shots from the high slots as Mounds View brought it into our zone.”
