Area Boys Hockey: Stumpf, Flyers shutout Sabres

SARTELL — Spencer Fenske collected two goals and a pair of assists as the Little Falls Flyers swept past the Sartell Sabres in a Section 6-1A game Tuesday.

Luke Majerle also netted two goals while Ben Newman and Thomas Miller each scored once. Newman and Miller were each credited with two assists.

Michael Stumpf was perfected in goal turning aside all 29 shots he face for his fifth shutout of the season.

The Flyers lead the section with a 7-0-0 record and are ranked 12th in Class 1A with an overall record of 18-6.

BREEZY POINT — The Northern Lakes Lightning got two goals from Nick Blanchette and closed out regular season play with a 5-3 non-conference win over the Prairie Centre North Stars Tuesday.

Ben Moe, Gaven Bickford and Jake Hyytinen also scored goals for Northern Lakes, which outshot the North Stars 42-14 with Mitch Stangel making 11 saves.

WADENA — The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines wrapped up their regular season schedule with a 12-8 win over the Morris-Benson Braves in a Section 6-1A game Tuesday.
