ALPINE SKIING: Mount Ski Gull team competes at Spirit Mountain

DULUTH — Sunday’s snowstorm couldn’t keep 18 of Mount Ski Gull’s Alpine team racers from competing in the Northland Junior Race Series event at Spirit Mountain.

Two of Mount Ski Gull’s youngest racers took top honors. Tucker O’Brien finished first in the boys 5 and under division and Sierra Larson finished second in the girls 5 and under division.

In the boys 8-9-year-old division, Max Krieger took second with teammate Gavin Hoelzel close behind in third.

Mount Ski Gull will host the next NJRS meet at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. The Mount Ski Gull team will also host a fundraiser at the hill Saturday, Feb. 16, to help raise money for new lights.
