Area Girls Basketball: Verndale clinches share of Park Region title

PILLAGER — Teresa Moenkedick poured in 26 points to lead Verndale past the Pillager Huskies 67-34 Friday night, guaranteeing the Pirates a least a share of the Park Region Conference title.

Also reaching double figures for the Pirates were Jordyn Glenz with 11 and Elyssa Kern with 10.

Autumn Border led the Huskies with 10.

PINE RIVER — Tatum Sheley scored 26 points and dished out nine assists as the Pine River-Backus Tigers won their sixth straight game, 85-38 over the Ogilvie Lions in a Section 5-1A game Friday afternoon.

Autumn Ackerman added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Brittany Kelley collected 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers, who outscored Ogilvie 53-22 in the first half.
