Jacob Blong finished with a game-high 25 points and snared 11 rebounds while Marcus Comstock chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Brothers Tony and Jack Sauer each finished with 11 points.

Brainerd hit 26-50 (52 percent) from the field.

“We played a really good game on the road tonight and our kids were really focused,” said Brainerd coach Scott Stanfield. “We already had the conference won and it looks like we’ll be the No. 1 seed, so some people might think we didn’t have that much to play for tonight, but the kids were solid all-around and focused on the court.

“Jacob and Marcus were solid on offense and our defensive ball pressure was phenomenal. Tony and Jack defensively took Apollo out of some of the things they wanted to do.”

The CLC champion Warriors have won eight in a row, are 22-1 overall, 14-0 in conference. They had defeated Apollo 67-28 Jan. 15 in Brainerd.

“We’re really looking forward to next week (against Rocori, Grand Rapids and Fergus Falls),” said Stanfield. “Monday, kids get in free with their parents and can get an autographed team picture.”
