BSU names Dill director of athletics
■ Lynx sign first-round pick
MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Lynx on Thursday announced the signing of first-round draft pick Lindsey Moore (12th overall).
Moore, 21, averaged 15.1 points and 5.7 assists per game as a senior with Nebraska last season, dishing out a career-high and school-record 195 assists en route to receiving Associated Press All-American honorable mention.
She finished first in the Big Ten in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.14), third in assists (5.7), eighth in scoring (15.1), eighth in three-point percentage (.382) and 10th in field goal percentage (.468).
In the NCAA Tournament, Moore led Nebraska to the Regional Semifinals for the second time in her four-year career.
The Lynx’s first preseason contest is at noon May 21 at the Target Center. They open the season at 7 p.m. June 1 against the Connecticut Sun.
■ BSU names Dill director of athletics
BEMIDJI — Bemidji State University announced Thursday that Tracy Dill has been hired as the university’s director of athletics.
Dill has served as St. Cloud State’s associate athletic director for marketing, promotions and fundraising since 1999.
He joined the SCSU staff in 1985 as an assistant football coach. In 1988, he added head coach for men’s track and field to his responsibilities.
In 1995 he resigned as an assistant football coach and became the head coach for men’s and women’s track and field and cross country.
Dill will begin his position June 1.
