Snowmobile Racing: Three from area to compete in X Games

Levi LaVallee of Longville, Mike Schultz of Pillager and Cody Thomsen of Nisswa are among nine professional athletes from Minnesota who have been invited to compete in X Games Aspen 2014, which kicks off Thursday and runs through Sunday.

LaVallee, 31, will compete in snocross, Schultz, 32, in snocross adaptive and Thomsen, 22, in snocross.

This week marks the 18th edition of the winter event and the 13th consecutive year the X Games have been conducted in Aspen, Colo.

Other Minnesota natives scheduled to compete are Dan Brisse, Richmond; Andrew Carlson, Big Lake; Logan Christian, Fertile; Chris Heppding, Elgin; Tucker Hibbert, Pelican Rapids; and Bobby LePage, Duluth.

Additional information is at ESPN and ABC will televise a combined 16 hours of live competition.
