Logan Rivard’s hat trick powered the Brainerd Warriors to a 5-0 win over the Willmar Cardinals in a Central Lakes Conference game Monday night at Brainerd Area Civic Center.

Coupled with Alexandria’s 2-1 loss to St. Cloud Apollo on Monday, the victory enabled Brainerd to take over first place in the CLC.

Warriors’ goalie Brady Mick turned away all 17 shots for his fourth shutout of the season.

Alex Mimmack and Cole Smith each added goals for the Warriors, who are 5-0-1 in their last six games.

Bill Desrocher collected two assists for Brainerd, which outshot the Cardinals 39-17.
