Area Boys Basketball: Ogren scores 1,000th point in LRCS victory

BAXTER—Tyler Ogren reached the 1,000 career-point milestone and finished with 22 points for the Lake Region Christian Hornets in a 70-54 non-conference win over Cambridge Christian Thursday.

Nick Christenson added 19 points and six steals for the Hornets and Nik Speliopolous grabbed 16 rebounds.

AITKIN—Class 2A's fourth-ranked Crosby-Ironton Rangers, led by Jack Silgen's 24 points, made it 9-0 against Section 7-2A opponents with a 90-44 victory over the Aitkin Gobblers Thursday.

C-I drilled 12 of 17 shots (71 percent) from beyond the arc. Evan Edmundson hit five of seven threes and finished with 20 points and eight assists. Noah Gindorff had 17 points and 17 rebounds and Trey Jacobs also contributed 17 points.

Aitkin was led by DJ Haasken with 12 points and Hunter Moe added 10.

PERHAM—Dylan Lukasavitz's 14 points led Little Falls but the Flyers couldn't overcome the Perham Yellowjackets as they fell 70-45 in a non-conference game Thursday.

Austin Weisz and Joe Alholm each chipped in with 10 points for the Flyers.

The Yellowjackets entered the game 19-2 overall and won for the ninth straight time.

Pine River-Backus also had four players in double figures led by Nick Ackerman with 19, Torry Hirschey 15, Brady Raph 14 and Nate Brasel 11.
