Drag Racing: Drag and Superbike racing on tap at BIR

With only two races left in the six-race Bracket Drag Racing Series, points are at a premium, which means action will be fierce this weekend on the Brainerd International Raceway drag strip.

The series continues this weekend with the fifth race at BIR. Friday is a test and tune day with racing Saturday and eliminations Sunday. Racing starts at 9 a.m. daily.

BIR’s 2.5-mile Competition Road Course will host the Central Roadracing Association’s Superbike Racing. Some of the best amateur Superbike racers in the Midwest will take on the challenging 13-turn track. Racing runs through Sunday.

Back on the drag strip, the top spot in most of the point standings is still up for grabs. More than 250 dragsters, cars, trucks, bikes, snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters are expected for this weekend’s race. They’ll compete in 10 different classes.

Fans get all this racing for the price of a single ticket. Daily admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children aged 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. Every ticket includes a pit pass. Camping is free with a multi-day ticket.
