WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Itasca outlasts Raiders

The Central Lakes College Raiders head into the Christmas break in need of a break.

Their 65-60 loss to Itasca on Saturday in the CLC Winter Classic was their fourth in a row.

Stephanie Neugebauer led the Raiders with 18 points, followed by Katie Hochsprung with 16. Brittany Gravelle also finished in double figures with 10 points for CLC.

The Raiders trailed by 11 at halftime as they got off to another slow start. They were able to make a few runs in the second half, outscoring the Vikings by six, but it wasn’t enough.

“We dug ourselves a hole in the first half,” said CLC coach Dennis Eastman. “We kept getting back into it in the second half, but we couldn’t get the lead.”
