Boody was 2-3 with a run and two singles in a 6-2 win in Game One. Harting pitched a complete game, with one earned run, four strikeouts and two walks.

Steph Neugebauer went 3-4 with three RBIs and a double, Tricia Wippler was 3-4 with an RBI and double and Lindsey Fryer was 2-4 with two runs, an RBI and two doubles.

In Game Two, Boody was 4-4 with a run, RBI, two doubles and two singles in a 9-4 win. Harting pitched five innings to get the win, allowing two runs, striking out one and walking four. Fryer pitched the last two innings, allowing two runs, with one strikeout and four walks.

Dani Thiesse was 2-4 with two doubles, Fryer was 3-4, Neugebauer was 2-4 with a triple, Alicia Johnson was 2-4 with a double and Harting was 1-4 with a double.

“It was a much better day for us,” CLC coach Greg Medeck said. “We were actually short-handed. We were down to 10 players but we kind of pulled things together and played two more complete games. We’re not 100 percent there yet, but we had no letdowns.

“We were all in the first game the first few outings, then we kind of let off the other game and struggled. (Saturday) we were consistent throughout the whole day both games. That pleased me.

“Our hitting was a lot better (Saturday). We’re still trying to cut down errors and mental mistakes. We’ve got some girls playing different spots. We’re jockeying things around, but we’re getting there.”

The victories improved CLC to 4-2 in the division, 7-5 overall, with five doubleheaders scheduled in the next nine days.

“We have a lot of games coming up in a short amount of time,” Medeck said. “We have to stay healthy and continue to improve. Our hitting is coming around a little bit. We have to shore some things up in the field a little bit and make a run here.”
