Former Warriors meet in WCHA series

Brainerd High School graduates Drew Olson of Minnesota-Duluth and Josh Archibald of Nebraska-Omaha will oppose each other in a WCHA men’s hockey series Friday and Saturday in Omaha.

Friday’s game will be televised at 6:30 p.m. on NBCSP (formerly VERSUS). Saturday’s game, which will not be televised, will begin at 7 p.m.

Olson, a junior defenseman, has played in all 20 games for the defending national champion Bulldogs (14-3-3). He has a goal and two assists. UMD, ranked No. 1 in the nation, is 13-0-3 in its last 16 games.

Archibald, who recently returned from the World Juniors tournament, has seven goals and four assists. The freshman forward has played in 20 games for the Mavericks, who are 10-8-4.
