Men's College Basketball: Raiders survive match-up with Mesabi for division win

Central Lakes College hosted Mesabi and Northern Division’s leading scorer in Becarius Dinkins.

Dinkins finished with a game high 24 points, but the Raiders made enough plays to keep the Norse at bay and came away with a 75-68 win.

Brandon Davis tallied 19 points for CLC and also recorded seven rebounds as the Raiders improved to 3-2 in division play while the Norse dropped to 3-2.

John Jedneak finished with 14 points and Kevin Kuefler recorded 12 in the win for the Raiders.

CLC outscored Mesabi in points off turnovers by 10 and also outscored them by a 21-12 margin from the three-point range.

However, the Norse out rebounded the Raiders 35-22 and outscored CLC 16-10 in second chance points.

The Raiders led 43-22 at halftime but couldn’t put the Norse away in the second half. Mesabi cut the lead to six points on several occasions but CLC responded each time with a key bucket to build the lead back up.
