Raiders prevail in OT in Northern Division Collision

THIEF RIVER FALLS — The Central Lakes College Raiders made it three in a row with a 76-74 overtime win over Northland at Thief River Falls on Wednesday night.

Bryan Gichaba tallied 21 points to lead the Raiders in scoring while John Jedneak and Quincy Bethea each finished with 15 points. CLC shot 38 percent from the floor.

The Raiders led 39-32 at the half, but the Pioneers outscored them by seven in the second half to draw even at 70. The teams combined for only 10 points in overtime, but the Raiders came away with a two point edge.

“We dominated on the boards, and shot a lot of threes against their zone,” said head coach Jim Russell.“Nate Holm went 4-6 from behind the arc, and Alex (Koch) went 6-10. John Jedneak also got a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

“Any win on the road is good and I am happy. The team is starting to come together.”
