Former Bemidji State standout signed by Wild

ST. PAUL -- Former Bemidji State men’s hockey standout Matt Reed has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Minnesota Wild, General Manager Paul Fenton announced Monday afternoon.

The forward played four seasons with the Beavers from 2007-2011, picking up 65 goals and 78 assists in 147 games, before signing with the Philadelphia Flyers in a three-year deal in 2011.

Read has racked up 87 goals and 100 assists in his 437-game career so far, but played just 19 games for the Flyers last season with one goal scored.
