Lunkers make it 4 in a row
Brainerd MN 506 James St. / PO Box 974 56401

The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers have combined to score 37 runs during their four-game winning streak and not just one player is hitting – the entire lineup is contributing.

Tyler Wampler led off the game with a single, his first of three on the day, and the Lunkers went on to tally six unearned runs in the first inning, cruising to an 8-4 win over the Duluth Huskies Sunday afternoon at Mills Field.

Wampler, the Lunkers’ leadoff hitter, failed to get a hit in his first three games, but got his first hit Saturday night and added three Sunday, picking up an RBI in the process.

Ryan Abrahamson and Steven Brault each went 2-4 with RBIs and a run scored for Brainerd.

Joe Willman got the start for the Lunkers and pitched efficiently. He went six innings, giving up four hits and an unearned run while recording six strikeouts.

With the win, the Lunkers moved to 4-1 on the season. The four-game homestand continues Monday as the Lunkers take on the St. Cloud River Bats at 7:05 p.m. at Mills Field.
