AMATEUR BASEBALL Bees win one of three over weekend

Tim Martin pitched a three-hit shutout and went 2-for-2 as the Brainerd Bees blanked the Moorhead Brewers 1-0 in a seven-inning exhibition game Saturday at Adamson Field.


Martin walked two and recorded 10 fly ball outs. Kevin Peterson went 2-3 and drove in the game’s only run in the sixth with a two-out single.

On Sunday, Moorhead beat the Bees 10-4. Mark Ortega was 3-3 with a walk, double and RBI for the Bees.

Earlier Saturday, the Sauk Rapids Cyclones beat the Bees 6-1 in a Lakewood League game. Joel Martin drove in the Bees’ only run with an RBI groundout in the sixth.
