Track and Field: Huber to compete in USATF Outdoor Championships Sunday, June 24
MOORHEAD—Minnesota State University Moorhead senior standout Brian Huber will compete in long jump at the United States Track and Field Outdoor Championships Sunday, June 24, at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
It will be Huber's first time competing at the event which begins at 2:25 p.m. Sunday.
The Staples native won the NCAA Division II long jump national championship May 25 in Charlotte, N.C. He recorded a school-record jump of 26-2.25 to win the event. That jump is 14th best out of the entries for the USATF Championships.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to represent MSUM on a much bigger stage and to compete against the best jumpers in the country," Huber said in a news release. "I always set high expectations for myself and I plan to take full advantage of everything this experience has to offer."
Huber finished his career with a national championship, four first-team All-American honors and five NSIC titles.
NBC will televise selected events from the USATF Championships beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday.
