Earl C. Leslie, 87, Brainerd, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, in Brainerd.
He was born on March 4, 1916, in Pequot Lakes to John and Carrie (Nelson) Leslie. He attended Crosby High School. He owned and operated Leslie's Market in Brainerd for 30 years. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church and of the Genealogical Society.
Survived by his son, Tristan C. (Diane) Leslie of Port Orange, Fla.; his three grandchildren, Lynn Meyer, Erik (Wanda) Leslie and Jane (John) Olinger; his seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kaida and Aidan Meyer, Jordan Leslie, and Taylor, Daulton and Tucker Olinger; his sister, Imogene Beebe of Little Falls; his niece, Barbara Quammen; and his great-niece, Heather Quammen.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leone, on Jan. 29, 2003.
Memorials may be directed to Park United Methodist Church.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd with Pastor Rory Swenson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd. Friends may call Thursday, Jan. 8, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
