Extravaganza: It's more than just a fishing contest
During the past 20 years, the Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza has raised nearly $2.5 million for about 50 local nonprofit organizations. Of this, $1.7 million went to Confidence Learning Center, which is the primary benefactor of the event.

2002: Jim Davis, $97,057.
2003: Steve Jobe, $206,440.
2004: Brian Lindberg, $252,660.
2005: Shawn Ridler, $166,897.
2006: Mary Devine, $195,557.
2007: Taylor Fitterer, $211,528.
2008: Brian Sedlachek, $228,000.
2009: Jeff Hegg, $169,800.
