'Star Wars:A Celebration' set in Staples Book shorts
STAPLES - "Star Wars: A Celebration," for ages 7-12, will be hosted by staff from Great River Regional Library children's services from 6 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Staples Public Library.
The program will include games, activities and crafts based on the "Star Wars" movies and books.
The attendance limit is 20. Pre-registration is required by calling (218) 894-1401.
Heartland Poets to meet Friday
Heartland Poets, a local chapter of the League of Minnesota Poets, will meet from 6-10 p.m. Friday in the large room of the Brainerd Public Library.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
An audio program on "Performing Poetry" will follow a short business meeting. Poems-in-progress will be shared by members and guests for enjoyment and review. Bring extra copies so others may appreciate your poem.

LOMP seeks submissions
The League of Minnesota Poets is inviting Minnesota poets to submit a poem about a county of their choice for an anthology titled "County Lines."
The deadline is Feb. 7; publication is scheduled for the summer.
Poems showcasing any aspect of county life, culture, nature, people and history will be considered for the anthology. LOMP especially seeks poems by natives of each county and poets whose work reflects ethnic diversity. Both new poems and previously published poems are welcome.
