Wadena boxers score victories
Four Wadena boxers won matches on a Golden Gloves boxing card Saturday at Fergus Falls.
Chris Steward, Wadena, scored a referee stops contest in the first round against Dylan Samuelson of Fergus Falls at 70 pounds.
Wadena's Stephanie Koljonen, 135, suffered a first-round knockdown but came back to win a unanimous decision over Marie Roggenkamp of Fergus Falls.
Chandler Green, 130, Wadena, decisioned Ricco Vribe, Lower Sioux.
DeWayne Steward, 165, won a third-round RSC over Justin Peter, Lower Sioux.
Trent Petro, Wadena, lost a decision to Tyler Hultin of Fergus Falls.
Wadena will host a card at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the National Guard Armory.
A double main event will pit Wadena's DeWayne Steward against Javonte Starks of Minneapolis. Starks is ranked eighth in the nation at 165 pounds.
Lenny Drewelow, 230, Fergus Falls, will face Jesse Ruiz, 220, from St. Cloud.
Other boxers scheduled to see action are Trent Petro, Travis Petro, Chris Steward, Stephanie Koljonen, Brent Steward, Chandler Green, Billy Richards, and Elliot Sandberg.
