How we compare
Minnesota 2020, headed by Matt Entenza, released new research last week that showed 80 percent of school districts in the state saw a decline in per pupil income between 2003-2008.

The study uses an inflation adjustment to show how the real value of a dollar spent on public schools in 2003 has declined in value in 2008.

Here's a look at how area school districts compare:

Pierz saw an increase of $439 per student in levy revenue and a drop of $899 in aid from the state for a loss of 5.1 percent.
