Goal: "I'm just hoping to catch something, just anything. I'm just going to try to see what it's like. With 11,000 people on the lake it's going to be quite interesting."

Contest experience: His second year. Running on two hours of sleep, he worked until 5 a.m. and drove straight to Gull Lake with friends to fish in the contest Saturday.
Fishing strategy: Use a Vexilar depth finder and find a hole on the outer edge of the contest ice, away from other anglers.
"We're going to keep hole hopping until we find fish, I guess. We'll give it a try."
