Working Family Initiative Forum planned Jan. 29
A Working Family Initiative Forum about child care, child health care and wage issues is scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 29 in the Koinonia Room at First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St. in Brainerd.
The public is invited to attend. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Learn what happened regarding child care, children's health coverage and minimum wage during the 2007 legislative session and speak out about the needs you see for your community in these areas or share your personal stories.
The forum is sponsored by Child Care WORKS, Children's Defense Fund MN and JOBS NOW Coalition. Local sponsors include Brainerd Lakes Area Early Childhood Coalition, Brainerd Public Library, Bridges of Hope, Central Lakes College, Child Care Resource and Referral of the Ottertail Wadena Community Action Council Inc., Crow Wing County Health Department, Crow Wing County Licensed Family Child Care Association, Crow Wing County Social Services, Minnesota Rural CEP and Tri-County Community Action Inc.
