DNR awards $3.4 million
The DNR has awarded $3.4 million in grants to 21 local communities from the new Parks and Trails Legacy Grant Program.
The projects will help local governments acquire, develop, restore, and maintain parks and trails of regional or statewide significance across Minnesota.
Funding for the program comes from the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment approved by voters in 2008.
Information on the projects selected for funding may be found on the Parks and Trails Legacy Grant Program Web page at www.dnr.state. mn.us/grants/recreation/pt_ legacy.html. Questions related to the grant program may be directed to the DNR's Parks and Trails Division at (651) 259-5642.

A public hearing to discuss proposed changes to rules governing aquatic plant management fees is scheduled from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Camp Ripley Education Center, 15000 Highway 115, Little Falls.
Hearings also are scheduled at the same times Feb. 23 at Bigwood Event Center, 925 Western Ave., Fergus Falls; and Feb. 25 at the Kelly Inn, 2705 Annapolis Lane N., Plymouth.
