S-M pounds Perham 68-48
BOYS' BASKETBALL
STAPLES - Caleb Nurnberger scored 29 points to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a 68-48 non-conference boys' basketball victory over the Perham Yellowjackets Tuesday.

Matt Edin scored 13 points and Wade Anderson added 11 for the 6-7 Cardinals.

DULUTH - Tucker Sheley scored 27 points and Jesse Fisher tallied 12 to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots past the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers 68-40 in non-conference boys' basketball Tuesday.

Sheley sank four 3-pointers as Pequot bounced back from its only loss of the season on Friday. Jon Parker added nine points for Class 2A's second-ranked Patriots.

PILLAGER - Joe Lennon scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Pillager Huskies as they were defeated by Class 1A's second-ranked Cass Lake-Bena Panthers 115-73 in non-conference boys' basketball Tuesday.

The Panthers had five players in double figures, including Brady Fairbanks who hit six 3-pointers to finish with 30 points.

Jake Martin scored 11 points and Luke Nelson nine for Pillager.
