Fifth annual Crosslake
Winterfest planned for Feb. 8-10
CROSSLAKE - Crosslake is gearing up for an abundance of wintertime fun during their fifth annual Winterfest, Feb. 8-10.
The community is inviting people to join hundreds of hearty souls who trek across the tundra to enjoy three days of winter splendor, the Brainerd Lakes Chamber reported. Family activities multitude of indoor and outdoor activities are planned for the entire family.
Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. on Feb. 8 at Crosslake Town Square and go until 9 p.m.
The Winterfest Medallion Hunt starts on Feb. 8. A $100 cash prize will go to the winner. Clues for the Medallion Hunt can be found at numerous Crosslake merchants. On Feb. 9, events include a pancake breakfast at Crosslake Lutheran Church beginning at 7:30 a.m., a soup cook-off at noon, helicopter rides, bean bag toss, pool tournament, bocce ball tournament, ice bowling, kids snowmobile rides, Italian Olympics, boot hockey, jalapeno pepper eating contest and Wii bowling tournament.
An ice fishing contest will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Trout Lake (contest registration begins at 11:30 a.m. in the tent at Manhattan Beach Lodge). Tickets are $10. Prizes will be awarded for the largest single Walleye, largest single Pike and largest Northern/Pike combination.
Car races on Trout Lake on the Whitefish Chain are scheduled each day of the event, depending on ice conditions and Dog Sled Races at Crosswood's Golf Course in Crosslake Town Square will be on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
