Open Forum DFL should forget about abortion
Maybe it's time for the DFL Party to take abortion off its platform. Before anyone who reads this flies into a rage, this is why... the Republican Party has been beating us with it for years as everyone has strong feelings on abortion.
If we take this off our platform, maybe this regime that thinks it's OK to pull health care away from people that are barely surviving will have to own up to the fact that a percentage of the main posers of this regime don't care that everyone should be entitled to health care, rich or poor and that $8 an hour jobs don't cover the expenses of health care. Minnesota Care is not a free ride. I know people that pay up to $200 per month and dental, even for children has a cap...when one tooth can cost up to $800...figure it out... you will not see healthy smiles on those people.
The Republican Party has jammed this new morality down our throats and used the abortion issue to do it. There is nothing moral about slamming people into poverty and forcing them to make choices to buy food or medications. Minnesota Care provides people with an opportunity to pay for a portion of their health care. That's empowering to people. That's very important in moving forward and having success. To me that is the very basis of the American way. The very radical pro-choice people can still be pro-choice. We need to focus on the common good for all people. And that includes health care, jobs you can make a living wage with. Please look at the whole picture. If we do, this regime will not have a leg to stand on. People will see them for what their real goals are.

Dayton's time is running out
So now Ted "Old Purple Nose" Kennedy's lapdog, Mark "The Great Equivocator" Dayton, tells the country that he's tired of being lied to. Who can blame him? I'd be upset too if I were the only senator to close my office, pack my bags and head for the hills because some liar told me a whopper.
Luckily, Mark won't have to put up with all this lying after 2006.
