Puchalla leads Brainerd FLOOR HOCKEY
PLYMOUTH - Nathan Puchalla tallied five goals and Tyler Theien scored a goal just five seconds into the third period to lift the Brainerd Warriors adapted floor hockey team to a 7-5 North Conference victory over Robbinsdale Armstrong Thursday.
Puchalla scored three times in the first and twice in the third period. Amanda Albertson added a goal in the first to give Brainerd a 4-3 lead after one period.
Robbinsdale Armstrong tied the game in the second period before Theien took the opening faceoff of the third period and sent it flying into the net for a 5-4 Warrior lead.
"We just didn't come out to play against Anoka in our last game, but tonight we came out and we played very well," said Warrior coach Bruce Thompson. "It was fast paced and it was like a state tournament game. The kids came ready to play and they played well."
