Brainerd was in the dark for half-hour during power outage
A good portion of the city of Brainerd was in the dark for a half-hour Wednesday morning as a result of a power outage.
Tom Phelps, Brainerd Public Utilities superintendent, said a breaker went out at the main substation located off Crow Wing County Road 117 near the county fairgrounds. The city shares the power station with Minnesota Power. Phelps said workers were able to bypass the breaker to restore power to the areas in west, west central, northeast and southeast portions of Brainerd.
Phelps said the faulty breaker still has to be fixed.
The power went out about 9:05 a.m. and was restored about 9:35 a.m.
