Forestview student suspended for statements
Brainerd School District Superintendent Jerry Walseth said Thursday in response to a question that law enforcement, working with school officials, investigated an incident last week at Forestview Middle School in Baxter involving statements made by a Forestview student.
Walseth wouldn't say whether the statements were threatening in nature and he wouldn't reveal the age of the student, citing student data privacy concerns. He said the issue was dealt with in an expedient and appropriate manner and the student was suspended from school as a result.
Walseth also declined to comment about how the statements were conveyed and how they were discovered.
"We have involved law enforcement and they have dealt with it and we have dealt with it," Walseth said.
