Emily Breitling and Eleanor Thompson have been named to the second quarter principal's list at Family of Christ Lutheran School. Stafford Thompson, Erica Koehler, Natalie Savor, Vanessa Jarmuzek, Zachary Thomas and Jeremiah Vrudny have been named to the "A" list. Brandon Moe and Devan Sinotte have been named to the "B" list.

Megan Wagner, a 2004 graduate of Pequot Lakes High School, has designed a Big Brother-Big Sister billboard that is on display in St. Cloud. She is a student at St. Cloud Technical College and Northway Local Advertising and has designed numerous posters for Twin Cities merchants, newspaper ads and business signs.

The following students from Team 7D at Forestview Middle School have been named "Stars for the Quarter" for first quarter: Paige Lothert, Alayna Peterson, Lars Ohlin, Brandon Woods, Tyler Jay, Kayla Kraemer, Taylor Crowell, Damon Grilz, Jaci Bock, Zach Hammond, Shayla Franzmeier, Lyndsey Roesner, Tommy Olson, Ashley Erickson, Abe Tuomi, Nate Christensen, Hannah Fritz and Rebecca MacKay.









The following students from Team 7D have been named "Stars of the Quarter" for second quarter: Adam Keller, Micaela Hallan, Josh Davis, Brittany Bailey, Tyler Bruns, Vanessa Green, Nic Hays, Joey Wagner, Teagan Eide, Megan Tschida, Austin Polcaro, Mitch Howieson, Miranda Hanson, Kevin Gohman, Hayley Sinner, Kris Johnson, Zach Dehning and Haley Jaeche.

Brett Kramer, son of James and Carol Kramer, Baxter, has been accepted for admission at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.

The following students have been named to the fall semester dean's list at Ridgewater College, Willmar and Hutchinson: Aaron Stanley, Brainerd; Emily Regier, Hackensack; Mark Becker, Amanda Piekarski and Meggan Schwendinger, Little Falls.

The Brainerd Trades and Labor Assembly is offering the Elmer J. Johnson Memorial Scholarship for $500 to high school seniors in Crow Wing, Aitkin and Cass counties who are planning to enroll in a vocation/technical program at Central Lakes College on either the Brainerd or Staples campus next fall. Scholarship forms are available at local high school guidance offices. Deadline for completion is April 1.

The following students have been named to the first semester dean's list at Concordia College in Moorhead: Sarah Christensen, Christopher Comstock, Alyssa Parsons and Crystal Wright, Baxter; Elisabeth Jacobsen, Dusten Olejnicak, Jessie Rosenthal and Alisha Samp, Brainerd.

Maya Kuehn, Brainerd, was named to the dean's list for fall quarter at Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University.

Wal-Mart and Sam's Club are accepting nominations for Teacher of the Year. Outstanding educators are eligible for the award which includes, among other prizes, $1,000 for their school and $100 gift card to purchase supplies for the classroom. All local winners will be invited to apply for state honors. State winners receive $10,000 for their school and one national winner will receive $25,000. Through this year's program more than 5,000 teachers will be recognized. Nominations will be accepted at local stores until Feb. 23.

Kiley Wear, Brainerd, is a member of the Bemidji State University Honor Program for the 2006-2007 academic year. She is a sophomore majoring in elementary education.

Daniel Domenzain, Nisswa, received a $10,000 Hunt Family scholarship.

The following students have been named February students of the month for Pillager High School: Chelsey Gangestad, industrial technology; Leanna Etzler, art; Chris Britton, family and consumer science; Julia Pride, business; Andrew Simon, science; Ron Gross, music; Caroline Rasinski, social; Stephanie Burnham, English; Lena Unger, math; Nicole Hummel, physical education; Matt Doss, Spanish; Breanna Deyo, information technology.

Jessica Kulseth, daughter of Tim and Eileen Kulseth, Brainerd, has been accepted at Alexandria Technical College in the communication art and design program.

Jade Hellen, Pine River, is a member of Bemidji State University's Honor Program for the 2006-2007 academic year. Jade is a freshman majoring in creative and professional writing.

The Deerwood Lakes Lions have awarded $500 non-traditional student scholarships to Denise Garin of Brainerd, Tim Ludwig of Brainerd and Bonnie Williams of Palisade. All will attend Central Lakes College. Garin and Ludwig hope to become registered nurses and Williams is pursuing a career in business.

Glen Schmidt, Little Falls, is a member of the Omega Phi fraternity at Bemidji State University. He is a senior majoring in mass communication.

Betsy Finch, daughter of Greg and Tracey Finch, Princeton, and granddaughter of Addy Finch, Deerwood, has been named to the dean's list at Wheaten College.
