Three Washington High School seniors have been named winners of scholarships. Susan Anderson of Augsburg, Mary Mass of Augsburg and Susan Larson of St. Olaf College.

Postmaster Joseph Dunn today issued a warning that a new type of chain letter has appeared in Brainerd. All chain letters, he warned, are barred from the mails under postal laws and regulations.

Ambitious plans of friends of the Brainerd boys concert band are to enlarge the organization to one of 60 members. The present membership is 35. Brainerd parents should take advantage of the opportunities offered to gain a musical education for their children and should encourage their boys to join the band.
