Pierz police chief on paid leave for misconduct allegations
PIERZ - Pierz Police Chief Steve Boser was placed on paid administrative leave Tuesday while the city investigates allegations of misconduct, it was learned Friday.

The Pierz City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday in a closed session to discuss the misconduct allegations.

Pierz Mayor Toby Egan said Friday he could not release the nature of the investigation. He said the city council on Monday will discuss the investigation and will come up with a decision on an appropriate action, if any, against Boser.

Boser is the department's only full-time employee and has been with the department for nearly 20 years. The police department also has four part-time officers. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office will help patrol the city while Boser is on leave.

The city investigated Boser in 2006. Egan said the two investigations are not linked.

Calls made to Boser Friday were not returned.
