30 years ago (1977)

A native son, Dr. Smith, 62, returned to Crosby just over three years ago and established his practice as a urologist with Cuyuna Range District Hospital. He also continued the practice of growing orchids, his personal form of relaxation.

40 years ago (1967)

Fritz Loven, a longtime resident of Lake Shore Village was honored recently by the Lake Shore Rod and Gun Club for his outstanding service in conservation. He was presented a plaque in "grateful appreciation for a lifetime of conserving nature's wonders."

60 years ago (1947)

Organization of three senior scout troops was scheduled for Thursday night. Roger Holden, Legion chairman of organization work, said that there are approximately 235 young men planning on entering these troops.

80 years ago (1927)

It is reported that a group of Cuyuna Range mining men are urging Henry Ford to obtain interests here. A Henry Ford mine would certainly be an asset to the locality in which it is established.

100 years ago (1907)

The new First Baptist Church building was crowded to its doors Sunday by people who came to see and assist in the consecration of the building. They raised over $1,000 cash and pledges at this meeting Sunday.
