Prayer vigil and service planned Sunday
CROSBY -- In an attempt to heal its divided community in the wake of the Crosby-Ironton teachers' strike, a prayer vigil and ecumenical community service are planned Sunday by area pastors and ministers at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.
The prayer vigil will be 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. There will be a variety of prayer opportunities, including silent prayer, prayer journaling, anointed prayer and tactile prayer. Area clergy members will be on hand during the prayer vigil. People are encouraged to come any time during the vigil; there will be no formal sign-up times.
The ecumenical and community service of healing and hope for C-I schools and the community will be 7 p.m. Sunday. Worship will include Scripture readings, songs and prayer.
All community members are welcome to attend.
Immanuel Lutheran Church is at 600 Fourth St. S.W. in Crosby.
