Devastating is the only way to describe the performance of Coach Dave Maras' Brainerd High School Warriorette gymnasts Friday night as they kept improving each event, ending with a smashing 1-2-3 floor exercise, to capture their fourth straight region 8AA team championship.

The Building Committee of the Brainerd School Board, meeting in joint session with representatives of Brainerd Ice Arena, Inc., tentatively approved the site west of the high school gym as the location for the multi-purpose building.

Crosby-Ironton's Rangers closed out their Mid-State Conference season unbeaten in nine games. The dwindling regular season schedule saw C-I win 68-52 at Park Rapids.

Rolling up a big margin in the first half, Brainerd Warriors held off a strong Alexandria rally and defeated the Resorters 50-39. The "Human Bombsight" of the local contingent, Chuck Warnberg was in his usual form as he dropped in 21 points.
